Quarterly DSL shipments

Another record quarter for DSL shipments. For the first time, 25m DSL lines (+ 16%) were shipped in one quarter, according to OVUM-RHK. The main driver was Asia and specially the Chinese market. Asia accounts for more than 40% of the global market with over 10m DSL lines shipped in the quarter. New IPTV and NGN networks are also a strong driver in NA and EMEA. Alcatel firmly holds the pole position with a 36% market share on a rolling four-quarter basis (almost 10m lines shipped in 2Q07). Huawei follows with a 19% market share, then ZTE with 10%, Ericsson with 8%, NSN with 7%, Fujitsu and UTStarcom with 4% each.
