Subscriber figures - 29/07/06

 

Bharti Airtel (India) added 3.7m new customers in 2Q06 to reach a subscriber base of 24.5m.

Telecom Italia announced 7.9m broadband users at the end of June. 1.6m are abroad in France, Germany and Holland. It also said it had 30.4m mobile subscribers at the end of June, of which 3.4m are 3G..

Bellsouth currently has 19.3m access lines in the US, and 3.3 m broadband users.

Verizon Wireless says it has the largest retail customers, with 52.6m retailer customers, though Cingular has 57.3m retail customers.

US broadband user number reached 50m mark.

DTAC (Thailand) had 10.6m mobile subscribers as of the end of June.

Chunghwa Telecom (Taiwan) had 8.4m mobile users, and around 440,000 3G mobile users.

Vodafone had 186.8m mobile customers at the end of June.

Vodacom (S. Africa) has increased its customer base by 7.3%to 25.2m.

DiGi (Malaysia) reached 5.44m mobile subscribers at the end of June.

Centertel (Poland) had 11.13 million subscribers at the end of June, up 30%

Vodafone had 9.1m 3G users in subsidiaries or JVs and a further 2m in the group’s associates.at the end of June.

MTC (Kuwait) reported 23m mobile subscribers worldwide (in 20 countries).
