The Analyst' s corner: RW. Baird has lowered its estimates on Nortel, predicting a loss for 2008. CSFB cut its estimates on Ericsson , Nokia and Qualcomm on tough market conditions, but raised its estimates on RIM, while RBC Capital raised its estimates on Palm.

RIM reported strong FY2Q08 with revenues up 88% to $2.6bn, and net income of $496m, up 72%. RIM shipped some 6.1m devices (of which 2.6m BB) in the quarter, with a total Blackberry subscriber base of 19m.
