In the previous Telcoflash issue (N99), we presented Ovum-RHK forecast on this market. Today, Dell'Oro unveiled its own results: the worldwide Optical Transport market grew 22% in 2005 to $8.4bn. Alcatel, Nortel, Huawei and Lucent are the top four suppliers. Numbers and ranking are different, but the scope of the two studies are also different. Reconciliating them is not easy, but adding missing products in the Dell'Oro report (i.e. Cross-connects, ..) would likely provide not- too- different figures in revenues.
