A new report from Dell'Oro reveals that the worldwide mobile infrastructure equipment market grew 7% in 2005 to $40.1bn. In 4Q05, the market grew 8% driven by strong sales of WCDMA and GSM-based equipment. WCDMA sales amounted to 17% of the quarterly revenues and sequentially increased by 30%, while GSM-based infrastructure increased 9% sequentially to reach $6.7bn in 4Q05. CDMA-based infrastructure decreased 10% in 4Q05, mainly due to slower sales in North America and in China.
