According to Gartner, 2Q05 handset sales amounted to 190m units shipped, up 22%. WE accounts for 19% or 37.4m +10%), NA for above 18% or 35.5m units (+9.5%), EEMA for more than 17% or 33.6m units, APAC for above 30% or 58.3m units and LATAM for 13.5% or 25.6m units (+50%). All countries have increased the handset sales except saturated Japan, which decreased 6%. Nokia is the worldwide market leader with about 32%, followed by Motorola with almost 18%.
