In Mexico, the number of internet users reached 20.5m at the end of 2006.

MTS (Russia) rises its subscriber base to 72.9m at the enf of Dec. 06.

Telefónica (World) says it had 7.3m broadband customers at the end of September 2006, of which 3.4m in Spain.

India did not escape fixed-line decline trend: its fixed line number decreased 17% to 40.4m in 2006.

Russia reported that 151.9m valid SIM cards were used in the country, but seems difficult to know the number of mobile subscribers.

Telekom Austria added 23.6k new ADSL customers in 4Q06 for a total base of 693.6k.
