Telenor is launching up to 16Mbit/s ADSL service (ADSL2+) and "ADSL Mini" at far lower speeds but further span distance.

Vodafone is rumoured buying remaining 18% stake in Arcor from Deutsche Bahn as well a 8% stake from Deutsche Bank in the fixed line German operator. Vodafone should be planning to merge Arcor with its German mobile unit Vodafone D2 in 3Q06.
