France targets that 100% of French households have broadband internet access before 2012.

Comstar Ukraine launches IPTV in Odessa city.

MTL (Malawi) plans to invest $25m to build a fiber-optic infrastructure.

Sonera (Finland) plans to invest in FTTH. The target is to have 400,000 households passed by the end of 2009.

Satlynx and Lunasat have launched broadband services by satellite in the Middle East and African (MEA) markets.

Numericable (a cable system in France) plans to add an ADSL offer to its cable business, based on Completel network, a Numericable sister company. With this deal, Numericable would become a national ISP, and launch a quadruple play service.

Vodafone Germany would soon takeover Arcor (Germany), a fixed line operator with 2.5m ADSL customers.

NTT East and NTT West plan to deploy a NGN network worth $1.1bn in FY2008, as part of a global capex of $8.5bn.

Be (UK) plans to increase by 15% its UK broadband network coverage in the next four months to 67%.

T-Systems has finally selected its strategic partner: Cognizant (US). The deal makes sense as the two companies match themselves very much geographically (Europe for T-Systems and NA and India for Cognizant). They will target large European businesses.
