Brazil: Vivo is the mobile market leader with 34% market share, followed by TIM Brazil with 23.5% and Claro (Telmex Brazil) with 21.5%, Telemar with 12.3%, Telemig and Amazônia Celular at 5% and Brazil Telecom GSM at 2.5%. GSM accounts for 46m users, CDMA for 24,5m and TDMA for 16,8m users.

China Unicom added 1,3m new mobile subscribers in January, bringing its total mobile customers to 129.1m (of which 96m are GSM).

China Mobile added 4,1m new mobile subscribers in January, bringing its total mobile customers to 393,4m users.

China is expected to have 100m Little Smart (PAS) subscribers at the end of the year.

Ukraine: 31m mobile users in January with a penetration of 66%.

USA: The number of landline users during 2005 was 172.1m compared to number of wireless subscribers of 194.5m.

EU has almost 53m broadband users and 416m mobile subscribers.

France: 1.3m households currently receive digital terrestrial TV and 1.1m TNT decoders were sold.

Ecuador: Porta (America Movil) had captured 65.4% of the mobile market by the end of 2005 with about 4,2m users.

Reliance Infocomm (India) had 15.6m CDMA WLL users; while Reliance Telecom had 1.7m GSM users at the end of Dec. 2005.

Sprint Nextel ended the year with 47.6m subscribers.
