S. Korea: the subscriber base reached 43.5m with the service penetration of over 89%; there were 5.7m 3G users and 6.5m mobile TV users at the end of 2007.

Kyvstar (Ukraine) reports 23.6m mobile subscribers at the end of 2007.

Softbank (Japan) has a mobile subscriber base of 17.6m at the end of December.

Tigo (Ghana) has over 2m mobile subscribers.

Cameroon: over 5m mobile users and a penetration rate of 40%, and 0.4m of fixed line users.

Spain had 49.6m mobile subscribers at the end of November, and a penetration rate of 111%.

Pakistan had 76.6m mobile subscribers at the end of 2007, of which 30.7m for Mobilink, 16.7m for Ufone, and 14.6m for Telenor Pakistan.

Guatemala added 3m mobile users in 2007 to bring its subscriber base to 10.2m and mobile penetration to 75%.

Nigeria ended Sept. 2007 with almost 44m (+63%) mobile subscribers and penetration of over 32%.

Egypt: at the end of 3Q07, mobile penetration was 33.5% with 27m subscribers (+70%), of which 13.7m for Mobinil and 12m for Vodafone.

Comstar (Russia) has doubled its broadband internet subscriber base in Moscow to 695k users at the end of 2007.

The world's total number of fixed telephone subscribers reached 1.27bn in 2006 (+1.8%) and penetration rate reached almost 20%.

Brazil had 121m (+21%) mobile phones in service at the end of 2007.

Colombia' s mobile subscriber base rose to 32.3m (+10%) at the end of 2007.

China Unicom added 1.36m users in December.
