Mobile contracts - 16/07/07

ZTE has received a GSM expansion contract worth $55m from Nepal Telecom for delivering 3.5m mobile lines.

Nortel has been selected by Cricket Communications (USA) to provide CDMA equipment under a $135m deal. It has received a $150m order from T-Mobile USA for its network expansion.

Huawei has been tapped by Telecom Italia to expand and upgrade its High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) networks covering southern Italy. It received a $50m order from Uganda Telecom for expanding its GSM network. It will provide Reliance (India) with GSM equipment under a $200m contract. it has entered into an agreement with US Leap Wireless to deploy CDMA 3G networks in the US.

Ericsson has signed new contracts for a GSM network extension and modernization with Bosnia' s BH Telecom.

ALU has been awarded a $400m contract by Reliance (India) for an IP-based next-generation, CDMA and GSM network expansion. It will supply the initial laboratory trials of the planned 4G network for TerreStar Networks (NA), based on an IMS service delivery architecture. ALU and SDH (France) have signed a two-year contract for the supply and installation of the first next-gen WiMAX network in France.

UTOPY will supply its Customer Intelligence solution to Telefonica Moviles.

IBM has got a $53m order from Idea Cellular (India) to deploy and maintain interactive voice response system.
