According to Point Topic, there were 298m (+5.8% qoq) broadband users in the world at the end of March 2007. The top 10 countries by number of subscribers are: USA with 60.3m, China 56.3m, Japan 26.5m, Germany 16.1m, France 15.3m, S. Korea 14.1m, UK 13.9m, Italy 9.3m, Canada 8m and Spain 7.2m. Among the top 10 countries, France announced the highest growth with +9.3% in the quarter, and China is getting closer to the top position. Eastern Europe reported the regional highest growth with over 10% (3 countries in the top 10 fastest growing countries worldwide).
