Ericsson will provide over 27m mobile GSM lines, while NSN will provide over 18m GSM lines, to BSNL (India), under a global $4.5bn deal. It will provide its mobile TV solution to Síminn, Iceland's largest mobile operator. It has been selected by Orascom Telecom to supply, install and commission network radio equipment for Banglalink (Bangladesh). It will expand Maxis (Malaysia) WCDMA/ HSPA network. Ericsson has been selected to provide its mobile Softswitch solution for Wataniya Telecom' s nationwide GSM network in Algeria. It will also upgrade China Unicom GSM network in six provinces. Ericsson will deploy a national GSM network in Kosovo, for Ipko Net

Huawei has secured a $700m GSM expansion contract with China Mobile. It has secured a deal from Vodafone Spain for HSPA extension.

ALU has received a GSM/ EDGE network expansion contract from Celtel-Kenya to cover over 80% of the population. It will supply UMTS equipment and IP routing to SFR (France), and will deploy a a CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Revision A mobile network in Ukraine for UMC. It will provide Leap Wireless/ Cricket Comms. (USA) with a new CDMA2000 1x EV-DO Revision A network under a deal worth $126m.

Nortel will expand Iusacell' s CDMA 2000 EV-DO network to 10 new cities in Mexico.
