Equal Access (in the future)

Publié le par Jean Arnal

It took some seven years to incorporate multimedia telephony into a mobile standard, but it is done. Real-time video, text and voice communications are now included in the 3G Multimedia Telephony specification approved by 3GPP. It is a great promise for disabled people, with deaf and blind people not left behind anymore by technology. The standard included in the 3G Multimedia Telephony specification is called “RTP Payload for Text Conversation”, and is already recommended in Sweden and by the European Commission INCOM accessibility report. The approval of this standard is a step forwards, but implementation is yet to come.
