ITU new objectives

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has been told to refocus its objectives on teledensity, and drive the growth of fixed-line voice networks in developing countries. ITU had some ambitions for the technical management of the internet. Simultaneously, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the US have voiced that it is more urgent to give emerging countries the possibility of phone call (more than half of the world's population has yet to make a telephone call) than decentralize the internet network control.
