Alcatel-Lucent 4Q06 + Full Year Results

The results for the fourth quarter are clearly disappointing. For 4Q06, Alcatel-Lucent reports pro-forma net loss of €(618)m, vs an income of €381m in 4Q05, on revenues of € 4.4bn, down 16% to €4.4.bn. For 2006, it announced pro-forma revenues of €18.2bn, down 2%, and net income of €522m, down 69%. Total cash and marketable securities were €6.7bn. 4Q06 non pro-forma revenues (2 months Alcatel + 1 month of combined operations) were €3.9bn and full year results were € 12.3bn.

The breakdown of revenues per region is as follows : 36% in North America, 15% in Asia, 26% in Western Europe and 23% rest of the world. The breakdown by business segment is as follows: €13.7bn (42% wireline, 42% wireless and 16% for convergence), 11% for Enterprise, 20% in Services. Alcatel-Lucent expects 2007 sales to be 5% higher, but with 1Q07 sales down yoy.
