LG Electronics posted 4Q06 sales of $5.9bn, down 11%, and $46m loss in operating profit. Revenues in its handset division was down 11% to $2.3bn while operating profit was down 70% to $63m. LG shipped 17m units (up 5%) in the quarter, of which 9m in CDMA, 6.2m in GSM and 1.8m in WCDMA. For the year, LG reported posted $24.2bn in revenues, down 3%, and a net profit of $222m. It shipped almost 64.5m units in 2006 (+17%).

Tellabs reported 4Q06 net earnings of $29m, down 68%, on revenues of $455m, down 13%, of which $159m in Transport (down 10%), $249m in Broadband (-17%), and $47m in Services, up 7%.

For the year, Tellabs reported revenues of $2bn, up 15%, and earnings of $194m, up 10%. Transport sales accounted for $778m, up 15%, in 2006; Broadband for $1.1bn, up 4%; Services for $183m, up 9%.

Avaya announced unchanged net profit of $71m, on revenues of $1.3bn, up 2.5%.

Microsoft reports a 4Q06 net income of $2.6bn, down 28%, on revenues of $12.5bn, up 6%. The operating income was down 26% to $3.4bn. Revenue breakdown gives 20% for client; 23% for server and tools; 5% for online services; 28% for Business division; 24% for entertainment & devices division.

Nokia posted solid earnings, profits and market leadership. 4Q06 revenues were €11.7bn, up 13%, and net profit of €1.3bn, up 19%. For the full year, Nokia reported a net income of €4.3bn, up 19%, on revenues of €41.1bn, up 20%.

Qualcomm announced a 5% increase in 4Q06 net profit to $648m, and revenues of $2bn, up 16%.

SUN reports its second positive quarter in a row with $126m in net income (vs loss of $223m last year), on revenues of $3.6bn, up 7%.

Extreme Networks reports 4Q06 revenues of $87m, down 6%. Revenues are made of 36% in the US and 64% international; 81% in product revenues and 19% in services.

Zhone Technologies said its 4Q06 revenues were $44m, down 17%, while its full year revenues grew 28% to $194m. Net loss in 4Q06 narrowed to $4.6m from $107m in 4Q05, while net loss in 2006 widened almost 13% to $143m.

Siemens posted 4Q06 net profit of €788m (but including a €423m fine for illegal behavior), down 16%, on sales up 6% to €19.1bn.
