Top five European mobile markets
According to Mobile World, the top 5 European mobile markets accounted for 315.5m customers at the end of the third quarter 2006.

It is noticeable that in spite of recent strong increase, France is still laggard in mobile penetration with far less than 80% when most others countries are around 100%, and even 130%+ for Italy. Countries, such as Netherlands or Poland, are used to be around 100% too.
World mobile penetration should be around 39% (up 23.5%) and concern about 2.5bn customers. 128M new subscribers were added in 3Q06 with growth driven by APAC countries (+43% rate), MEA countries with 18%, Europe with 16%, CALA region with 12%, CIS countries with 7% and NA with 4%.
