Alcatel has signed a €42m turnkey contract with PTT of New Caledonia to build Gondwana-1, a submarine cable network connecting New Caledonia and Australia. Completion is scheduled in the first quarter of 2008. It will also deploy a submarine cable network project, called SCF, in the Eastern Caribbean region
