Malaysia ICT strategy - 28 May 2005
Malaysia has chosen the South Korean model for its ICT future development. The road should be long to duplicate the success of the model, as Malaysia only has a mobile penetration of 55%, an internet penetration of 10% and a broadband access penetration of 1%. The first step should be the infrastructure enhancement, then the rolling out of products and applications enabling multimedia, triple play and converged services. Malaysia targets a 5% to 6% penetration rate in the number of broadband users by 2008.
