Consumers want more mobile in service packages

According to In-Stat, telcos are not providing mobile in their service packages as frequently as customers would like. Only 18% of current bundle subscribers have mobility, even if 32% want to include mobility in their telecom package. In-Stat analyzes this discrepancy as the result of competition between wireline incumbent and their mobile affiliates chasing for same subscribers and revenues. While mobile usage is eating in local and long distance plate, a large proportion of wireline subscribers want to keep their fixed line services. In addition, easy-to-understand service bundling (one bill) is a preferred solution rather than complex converged wireless/wireline services.

The report, "Wireless in the Consumer Telecom Bundle: Discounts without Convergence" covers consumer attitudes toward carriers, their current bundling spending, and wishes for bundled services.
