CheckPoint is to buy Sourcefire, a world-class solution maker for internal security through their Intrusion Sensor, Real-time Network Awareness (RNA), and Defense Center product lines. The deal is valued at $225m.

Comverse is buying the GSS division, a provider of software-based billing services, of CSG Systems International Inc. for about $251m in cash.

Broadcom will buy Athena semiconductors for $ 22m.
