DT should have bidded €1.6bn fot Orange NL. Orange NL currently has 600k subscribers and 11% of the Dutch market. In return, Orange is leading the purchase of DT' s Yago.com in Spain, trumping a higher bid from rival Vodafone.

Sprint Nextel is planning to spend $7bn in the year to enhance its mobile networks to EV-DO Rev. A and develop its WiMAX deployment.

Qwest has launched its new EV-DO Rev. A mobile broadband service.

Indotel (Dominican Republic's telecoms regulator) said local telcos could invest $1bn in 2007 and 2008 in the country.
