NTT’s revenues fell 2% to $22bn, while net income declined 4.4% to $1.6bn.
NTT DoCoMo (Japan) announced a 22% yoy leap in net profit, to $1.85bn on sales of $10.6bn (down 2.8%). ARPU slid 6.2% to $61.
BT achieved 2Q05 net earnings rising 24% to $652m, while revenues grew 4% to $8.3bn. IT network services and broadband now account for 29% of sales, while traditional telephone services continue to fall.
Orange reported a 4.5% increase in 1H05 sales to €23.7bn, of which €11bn in France, and EBITDA growing 6% to € 9.3bn.
FT exceeded analysts' expectations. Profit triple to €3.4bn, while EBITDA rose 6.2% to €9.3bn.
Sprint posted revenue of $7.1bn, up 3.6%, while net income came in at $600m. Wireless revenues jumped 12% to $4bn.
Verizon reported 2Q05 sales of $18.6bn and net earnings of $2.1bn, up 17%. Verizon Wireless sales grew 15% to $7.8bn.
Bellsouth achieved $5.1bn in 2Q05 revenues (up 1.2%) and earned $849m in the quarter.
Cingular's pro-forma revenues went up 4.6% to $8.6bn.
ATT posted another bad quarter with sales down 11% (down 8% in the Carrier segment and down 20% in the Consumer segment; even the data and IP segment declined 5%).
Telefonica Moviles posted 45% ump in 1H05 revenues to 7.8bn. OIBDA increased by 15% to 2.6bn. Telefonica Moviles Spain recorded revenue growth of 10% in 2Q05 to €2.2bn.
SK Telecom (Korea) achieved 2Q05 revenues of $2.5bn, up 6%, and net profit of $460m, up 56%.
Telenor (Norway) reported $310m net earnings in 2Q05 (up 19%) and $2.5bn in sales, up 8%.
Hutchison Telecom reports a $45m loss in 1H05 on revenues urging 45% to $1.4bn. Hutchison has 14.1m subscribers.
Teliasonera said net profit fell to $315m (down 30%), while sales rose 7% to $2.8bn.
