Siemens has won an Hutchison 3G Austria contract for a WCDMA network buildout. Siemens will partially operate the network, providing monitoring and maintenance services for the carrier.

Ericsson is close signing a huge deal (worth tens of millions dollars) with Vivo (Brazil) to provide its GSM overlay network.

Nokia has inked a deal with Chinese telco Hunan MCC to upgrade its GSM network.

Lucent will provide Russian CDMA mobile operator Sky Link with 3G equipment. It will also conduct with Manx (UK) a UMTS/ HSDPA field trial using 900MHz spectrum.
