Vendor results - 29/07/06

Lucent reported $79m in net profit, from $372m last year, on revenues falling to $2bn (from $2.34bn last year).

STMicroelectronics announced a profit of $168m, up 546%, while its revenues grew 15% to $2.5bn.

SUN reports a loss of $301m, vs. a profit of $50m last year, but sales grew 29% to $3.8bn (including StorageTek).

Carrier Access posts 2Q06 net loss of $903k (narrowed from $1.4m last year) on revenues of $25m (+31%)

Avaya reports net profit has dropped 77% to $44m.

Ericsson posted a 2% drop in 2Q06 net profit to $781m, hit by an amortization charge of $55m related to Marconi integration, while sales rose 15% to $ 6bn.

Alcatel announces that net profit was down 8% to €180m and operating profit at €263m. Sales rose 7.6% to €3.4bn.

NEC swung to profit with net profit at €810m in 2Q06 on revenues of €7.2bn. NEC noted strong sales of network systems for telecom companies.

ECI Telecom reports that its revenues were up 11% to $170m.
