Telefonica is re-organizing its corporate structure on three region-based units: European, Spanish and Latin American business units. Antonio Viana-Baptista will head the Spanish unit. Jose Maria Alvarez-Pallete will head the Latin American unit, and Peter Erskine will lead the European unit.

NTL/Telewest (UK) is offering free TV service to phone customers, and will launch quadruple play soon.
