ð                   According to IDC, US wireless data services amounted to about 6% of mobile services, and are expected to grow to 15% in next years. Messaging accounts for 50% of current data revenues.

 

ð                   Photo messaging currently concerns about 7% of US mobile users (or 13m users), up 5%, according to M:Metrics. Ringtones concern about 23m users, up 1%.

 

ð                   Online content could account for €3bn this year, according to EITO, and could grow to €16bn by 2008.

 

ð                   According to Nokia, mobile TV would be a success story and users should be ready to pay €12 for the service. Informa Telecom added that the service could count 125m mobile TV users by 2010.

 

ð                   According to NPD TechWorld, Samsung has overtaken Nokia in the USA handset market. Ranking on this market is now: Motorola with almost 32%, Samsung with slightly more than 18%, Nokia with just below 15%.

Western Europe could reach 100% mobile penetration by 2007, according to Analysys.
