ð                   According to Gartner, European IT services would grow 3.5% in 2005 to €163bn, and could reach $185bn by 2008. Business process outsourcing could grow at 6.6%, with outsourcing continuing to outperform with a 4.6% growth. UK would grow at 5.6%, Germany at 3.2% and France at only 2.1%.

ð                   According to Research and Markets, mobile video services are expected to be worth $5.4bn by 2009.

ð                   Research and Markets estimate the global VoIP gateway market would grow to $986m by 2009, from current $165m level.

ð                   Strategy Analytics said that China could have some 176m broadband users by 2010.

ð                   Dittberner announced a new forecast for the VoDSL equipment market. It could reach $1.1bn by 2009, from current $ 256m in 2004. At the end of 2004, there were some 8.6m VoDSL subscribers worldwide, mainly in Japan, France and S. Korea.

•             According to Canalys, Nokia holds 50% (from 28%) of the smartphone market, ahead of PalmOne with 9% (from 17%) and RIM. Symbian is the preferred OS with 61% market share (from 40%). About 11m units were sold in 1Q05, an 86% increase.
