Telcordia announced a new strategy for internationalization. It expects between 20% and 25% of its group revenue to come from outside of North America in the next two to three years. Mobile should also be another area for growth.

 

Italtel is considering IPO as it did not receive formal offers of purchase.

 

Cisco is buying Sipura, a key technology provider for Linksys' current VoIP networking product line, for $68m.

 

Nortel plans to buy PEC Solutions for $ 448m, in an attempt to win a slice of the lucrative U.S. government market. It also announced a 12-month shift in divesting certain manufacturing operations and related activities to Flextronics International.

 

Analysts are estimating a Huawei-Marconi deal could make sense after BT decided its suppliers.

 

Cisco and Macromedia invest in wireless game developer Indiagames. The bought combined 18% stake in it.
