Metro Ethernet market update

According to Infonetics Research, the worldwide metro Ethernet equipment revenue would likely triple to $15.5bn by 2009, from $4.9bn in 2005 and $2.6bn in 2004. Carrier Ethernet switches and routers would account for 32% of the metro Ethernet equipment market by 2009. North America accounted for 34% of all metro Ethernet equipment revenue in 2005, Asia Pacific for 33%, EMEA for 30%, and CALA for 3%.
