Qualcomm sues Nokia
The complaint involves 12 GSM patents. Qualcomm, with respect to the patents alleged to be essential to the GSM/GPRS/EDGE standards, must license the patents on fair, reasonable and nondiscriminatory terms. The complaint follows another complaint from Nokia, Ericsson, NEC, Texas Instruments, Panasonic Mobile and Broadcom against Qualcomm. It is not clear exactly where is the patent infringement, but the debate would promise to be tough, as concerning millions of dollars.
