• Broadband growth: Point Topic has released its new broadband statistics. The main trends are:

• the number of broadband lines worldwide is still growing, but growth is leveling off;

• the worldwide total of broadband lines grew to 176m in 2Q05, up 16%;

• leadership in broadband growth is shifting to Europe as saturation causes slowdowns in the Asia Pacific countries.

• Russia and India are making significant gains on the broadband scene.
