LogicaCMG will buy French rival Unilog for € 930m. With this move, LogicaCMG enters the top 10

data processing companies in Europe.

SAP is to buy Triversity, a small Canadian software house. The move follows the competitive deal between Oracle and Siebel.

Freescale (ex Motorola SCs) is providing application-critical silicon for wireless broadband access. Alvarion will be one of the first customers.

Avaya acquires Canadian telecom software developer Nimcat Networks for $ 54m.

Microsoft bought Alacris, a Canadian access control software specialist.

HP is buying Peregrine Systems for $ 425m and AppIQ, for an undisclosed amount.
