  • According to In-Stat, APAC (Asia- Pacific) could become the largest mobile market in revenues terms. By 2009, APAC mobile telecom revenues could reach over $260bn, from $180m in 2004.

  • The Yankee Group has found that in the US, wireless subscribers and wireless minutes used have grown enormously, to respectively in 2Q05 a penetration level of 65.4 % and 754 mn/month/user. The FCC added that in 2004 for the first time there were more wireless subscribers (181m) than there were POTS lines (178m).

  • According to Infonetics, worldwide wireless LAN equipment market was steady at $733m in 2Q05.

  • The cellular backhaul market represents a $20bn opportunity for cable over the next five years, according to a white paper released by Xtend Networks.
