FCC deregulates telco DSL broadband: The Federal Communications Commission has deregulated telco-provided DSL and other broadband services extending the current rule applied to cablecos in the US. The action essentially reclassifies the telco offerings from heavy regulated telecom services to deregulated information-services category. It is a big success for telcos that complain for years on the difference of treatment with cablecos.
