Bharti Airtel (India) posts 1Q07 net profit of $331m, up 100%, on revenues of $1.3bn, up 58%
Oi , formerly called Telemar (Brazil) reported 1Q07 net profit of $169m, up 136%, on revenues of $3bn, up 5% (of which $2.5bn in wireline and $0.5bn in mobile). . EBITDA was down 2.4% to $714m.
CTI Movil (LATAM) announced 1Q07 revenues of $416m, up 33%, and EBITDA of $108m, up61%. CTI Movil has operations in Argentina, Paraguay and Urugay. It is an affiliate of America Movil.
Claro (Brazil) saw 1Q07 revenues rising 21% to $1.1bn, while EBITDA jumped 147% to $295m. ARPU, however, slipped 4% to $13.3.
Qwest said its 1Q07 net income rose 172% to $240m, while revenues fell 1% to $3.45bn, of which $2bn in voice revenues and $1.2bn in Internet and video revenues. Qwest's total access lines fell 6.8% to 13.6m.
Iusacell (Mexico) posted a net loss of $113m, up 142%, on revenues of $187m, up 9%. EBITDA rose 31% to $34m.
Rogers Comms. (Canada) announced it earned $153m in 1Q07, up 1200%, while revenues grew 16% to $2.1bn, of which $1.1bn in mobile revenues (up 23%). ARPU rose almost 9% to $60.9.
