France has over 4m LLU (unbundled local loop). 18% of French households are broadband, against an European average of 15%.

Argentina' INDEC reports a 42% growth of the number of mobile lines in service to 32.4m at end-January 07.

Philippines: mobile penetration has reached 50% in 2006 with about 49m SIM cards in use and 43m mobile subscribers. Smart currently had about 25m mobile subscribers and Globe Telecom some 15.7m.

China has 830m telephone subscribers, of which 368m fixed and 462m mobile.

Azercell Telecom (Azerbaijan) has 2.3m mobile users, up 33%.

TIM Brazil ended 2006 with a 25.4m subscriber base, up 26%.
