Nortel is still splashing in financial problems. In past few months, Nortel successively lost its CFO, has paid $2.4bn to settle shareholder lawsuits, has claimed it will cut 9% of its workforce, and now announces it will delay annual financial reports for 2006 and restate 2004 and 2005 results, due to accounting errors.
Motorola has decided to focus on profitability, implying turning down low-profit deals with carriers it would have accepted in the past. Motorola share is up as investor Carl Icahn has filed to invest up to $2bn in Motorola.
Ciena reports 4Q06 revenues of $165m, up 37%, and a net income of $11m, vs loss of $6m last year.
Sonus Networks posts 4Q06 revenues of $79m, up 5%, and full year revenues of $279m.
UTStarcom said it will delay filing its 2006 annual report because of finance restatemet.
