Alcatel and Sylantro have delivered an integrated NGN solution to China Unicom. Sylantro will deliver servers and Alcatel its softswitch and call session controller.

UTStarcom has received a $100m order from China Telecom for PAS network expansion and another $ 85m order for PAS handsets. It also is providing China Network Communications Group Corporation (CNC) with PAS systems for the expansion of their network. The deal is worth $67m. It will supply Tiscali Italy with about 150,000 broadband lines. BSNL (India) has ordered its NetRing 2500 STM-16 multiservice optical transport solutions, and Softbank BB (Japan) will use its GEPON solution.

Alcatel is supplying an optical multi-service transport network for Telmex, Mexico. It will deliver triple play system to Be (UK) under a multi-million-euro contract including ADSL2+ technology, Ethernet aggregation and IP service routing. It will also supply an IPTV solution to China Satcom.

Cisco announced a three-year extension to its former contract with Sprint. It will participate in the France Telecom contract with Airbus for VOIP deployment (40,000 IP phones).

ECI Telecom will provide Astral Telecom (Romania) with its XDM Optical Platform for 10-Gig SDH.
