Portugal has reached a mobile subscriber base of almost 12m as of Sept. 06.

VNPT (Vietnam) added 1.2m fixed line subscribers, 151k internet users and 3.3m mobile subscribers in 2006. VNPT had in total 17.9m telephone subscribers.

Pakistan' s mobile subscriber base rose almost 4% in Dec 06 to 48.2m, of which 22.4m from Mobilink and 10m from Ufone.

MEA (Middle East & Africa) is given a 1m WCDMA subscribers at the end of Sept. 06.
