China Mobile buys abroad: it has signed a deal to buy almost 89% stake in Paktel (Pakistan) for $284m from Millicom (Luxembourg). It also would invest in Datang, a TD-SCDMA vendor in China.
Vodafone Egypt will sign a 3G licence deal, worth $580m, with Egypt's National Telecom Regulatory Authority.
MTC (Kuwait) aims for 70m mobile subscribers and EBITDA of $6bn by 2011.
KPN (NL) is selling its large telecom towers to TDF (France). TDF will continue to provide services to KPN under a 10-year agreement.
