A few set of market information released this week:

  • According to OC&C Strategy Consultants, there would be 6m mobile TV subscribers in France in 2013.

  • In stat announces that the digital terrestrial TV set-top-box market would reach $1bn in 2009. Europe leads the DTT market.

  • Zenith Optimedia forecasts that online ad market would account for 10% of the world ad market in 3 years.

  • According to InfoTech, IP convergence dominated global PBX line shipments for 3Q06 with 73% of the total $ 14bn shipment market (80% in the US and 70% elsewhere) while other systems (traditional PBX and key/hybrid systems) evenly split the remaining 27% shipment figures. Six vendors account for 80% of this IP telephony manufacturer revenue: Avaya, Siemens, Cisco, Alcatel, Nortel and NEC.

  • According to Frost & Sullivan, the 3G subscriber number in APAC excluding Japan would grow at a CAGR of 50%, starting from 15.6m in 2006 and reaching 178m by end-2011.

  • According to Ericsson and Ernst & Young AB, operator capex on telecom services for 2005 amounted to about $57bn.

  • According to AMR Research, IBM should employ 100,000 Indian people by 2010.

  • According to In-Stat, telco TV headend revenue would reach $870m in 2010, covering shipment of some 800 headends between 2005 and 2010.
