Technology: anti-malware chip
The Advanced Industrial Science and Technology Lab in Japan should have develop a chipset to prevent malware to go into your PC. Called “Field Programmable Gate Array”, the chip is user-programmable, can be upgraded against new threats, and targets the PC and mobile phone markets. With this technology, a hardware solution will complement/ replace a software solution; its strong advantage is needing less central unit time and power. Its main drawbacks today is cost and mass availability: it is not cheap to manufacture unless huge volume is ordered and the technology will not be mature before five years.
