Fujitsu and BTI announced an OEM agreement, adding BTI Netstender (to be known as the Fujitsu FLASHWAVE 7120 Optical Extension System) in Fujitsu portfolio. Fujitsu made another OEM agreement with Hammerhead Systems to incorporate Ethernet Aggregation, Packet-Enabled Access and Pseudowire Termination in the new FLASHWAVE 6400 Switch. It also announced enhanced features (RPR Technology and both SFP and CWDM Interface) to its FLASHWAVE 4100 MSPP.

MRV is introducing OptiSwitch 9000 Metro Ethernet platforms that aggregate Gigabit Ethernet links, provision enhanced Ethernet/IP/MPLS services, and provide WDM long distance transport.

Tellabs unveiled its Optical Networking Terminal (ONT) interoperability initiative to enhance speed and economics of Fiber to the Premise (FTTP).

ADC and Calient announced joint marketing agreement. ADC has introduced its LoopStar 1600 SONET multi-service transmission system.

Adtran announced that the next generation of its OPTI-6100 optical multiplexer will feature enhanced Ethernet and SDH service capabilities.

Cisco and UTStarcom announced a partnership to deliver triple play services to the Brazilian market.

Meriton Networks has introduced a fully integrated reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) and optical crossconnect (OXC) system.
