Siemens has signed a €40m GSM contract with Sotelma, Republic of Mali.

Nokia got a $212m GSM/GPRS/EDGE expansion contract from Total Access Communications PLC, or DTAC. It also provides Finnish mobile virtual network operator Saunalahti with equipment for converged networks (WLAN and cellular).

Corrigent Systems will deliver its CM-100 Packet ADM for national deployment in KDDI network (Japan).

Ericsson received an EDGE contract from Vimpelcom (Russia).

Ciena is delivering its DN 7000™ series of multiservice edge switches to StarHub (Singapore) for 3G mobile access network.

ZTE will provide a CDMA EV-DO overlay network to an unnamed wireless Canadian operator.

Nortel has deployed the first phase of a national GSM mobile network for Liberian operator Cellcom.

Huawei is named global strategic partner by Etisalat in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Lucent got the order to expand Delta Telecom's (Russia) CDMA450 network, and enhance the network to support CDMA2000.
