Operator results - 11 June 2005
Arcor (Germany) announced revenues of 1.6bn, up 14% and EBITDA rose 83% to 246m. Revenues are made 55% from consumers and 45% from businesses.
Telkom (South Africa) reported net earnings of $991m, up 49%, and revenues rose 7% to $6.4bn.
Sistema (Russia) posted a rise of 6% in net profits to $411m on revenues of $5.7bn, up 52%, of which $4.6bn in telecommunications, up 42%.
Polkomtel (Poland) posted 1Q05 revenues of $443m, up 10%, EBITDA of $ 171m or a margin of 39%, operating income of $101m and net income of $79m, up 42%.
Chunghwa Telecom (Taiwan) reported 5-month financial figures: sales were down 2% to $2.37bn and net profit was down 8% to $ 629m.
Far Eastone (Taiwan) announced 5-month pre-tax profit of $255m.
MTN (South Africa) reported full year figures of $941m in net profit, up 47%. Its EBITDA margin grew 4 points to 34%.
Vodacom (South Africa) posted net earnings of $573m.
