DOCSIS device shipment reached 5m units in 1Q05, of which more than 1m E-MTAs and almost 4m cablemodems. Arris, Motorola and Scientific Atlanta are the embedded multimedia terminal adapters (E-MTAs) market leaders, with a combined 83% market share. Motorola is the major supplier of DOCSIS Cable Modem and E-MTA market with 42% market share. SA, Ambit, and Thomson are followers with each having 10% - 12% market share.
