Lucent has won two new contracts for delivering optical equipment to Zhongshan Telecom and Zhuhai Telecom, two local branch companies of Guangdong Telecom.
Thomson will supply STBs (set top box) to UGC.
ZTE will provide more than 1m ADSL lines to China Telecom. In addition, ZTE will be the exclusive provider for the fixed NGN-backbone. ZTE is now the largest provider of telecommunications equipment in Mongolia with recent orders from Mongolia Telecom and the Information and Communications Authority of Mongolia (for a NGN solution).
Alcatel wins a 31m order from Spain's Transport Ministry for a rail renovation contract. It will supply Bellsouth with DSLAM gear, and will deliver 'triple-play' equipment to Auna, Spain's second-largest telecom network operator.
NetCentrex has got an order for an IP Centrex and Voice/Video VPN from Norwegian service provide Lyse Tele.
Siemens will upgrade existing copper cables with new fiber-optic cables in Kuwait under a 40m order. The upgrade will employ Siemens GPON platform
